2007 On One Pompino Single Speed Frame
To create the On One Pompino Single Speed Frame 2007, On One started out with their award winning Inbred singlespeed frame. They wanted a 700c wheeled road bike that had the same charms and character as the Inbred, but that would eat up tarmac, take on traffic, and ride wherever you want to go. They wanted to fit big tires, mudguards, racks, bottle cages. They wanted MTB compatibility for hub sets so we could keep their product range compact, but they really wanted to be able to fit road wheels if we needed to.
For geometry, On One used Cinelli's proven semi-compact geometry, twiddled a bit to allow even more adjustment. MTB riders and road riders will get on with this frame really well. They used their own custom drawn DN6 aerospace 4130 chromoly to give a great ride with unique rear triangle design to maximize lateral drive train stiffness, but not at the expense of vertical compliance and frame comfort. They also slimmed down the wishbone to make it sexier, lighter, cleaner, and more roadie.
