SRAM issues voluntary recall of 10-speed PowerLock chain connector links

On August, 11th SRAM issued a limited recall of select 10-speed PowerLock chain connector links. The chains themselves aren’t being recalled, just the PowerLock links. This recall only applies to 10-speed models. No other SRAM chains are subject to recall.

If you’re running a 10-speed SRAM chain on your bike, please take the time to inspect both sides of the PowerLock link. Links affected by the recall will be stamped with either the letter “M” or “N”. If either side of the PowerLink is stamped with an M or N, stop riding your bike and contact SRAM and they will arrange for a replacement PowerLink at no charge to you.

The moment we heard the news of this recall, we stopped what we were doing and headed off into the warehouse to inspect our inventory of SRAM speed chains. We hand inspected each and every 10-speed SRAM chain in stock and removed the few that were affected by the recall. It was a fairly tedious process but you can rest assured that every 10-speed SRAM chain Price Point has in stock is good to go.
