Road Magazine Reviews the Sette Primo

The Sette Primo Road bike was just reviewed by the very prestigious Road Magazine. They can be very discerning when it comes to testing out bikes and often cover only the most legendary of brands. Sette is thrilled to be in such company. Road had a lot of great things to say about the Primo, but here are a few of our favorite quotes:

“While the Primo does well on the straight and flat roads, and climbs decent, the real fun begins when you descend… it tracks pretty well and responds quickly to any nudge of the bar.”

“…A pretty phenomenal specification to boot. Ultegra SL wraps the bike along with FSA, Pro Logo and Sette’s own Avanti bar and tape… the Avanti bar has a nice ergonomic feel to it and the bar tape is some of the best I have used!”

“With regard to the frameset, without question, I am certain you won’t get a better ride quality for the price.”

"The Forza Pro was shipped in one large box that included the frame, wheelset, and other components. All of the components were wrapped in foam, bubble wrap, or separated from each other with cardboard to prevent damage. Everything was very well protected during shipment. I have only put 145 miles on the Forza Pro, but I can say that the ride quality is much better than my other bikes. Since this is my first carbon fiber bike, I was very surprised with the stiffness of the frame and the way that it absorbs road shock. I have aluminum, steel, and titanium framed bikes and can say that the Forza Pro rides smoother than any of them. Overall, I am impressed with the level of componentry, the ride quality, and price.The only qualm I had with the purchase of the Forza Pro was the 175 mm crank arms that are put on the 54 cm and larger frames. This seemed to go against everything I had read and most sizing thumb rules I had found. On the other hand some web sites indicated that the longer length should not be an issue since the change in leg and knee angles is very small. I was prepared to swap out the crankset after giving it a try, but the longer length has not bothered me and I expect that the longer crank arms will stay with the bike."

The Shimano 105 component set is bulletproof, and Mavik Aksium wheelset is awesome, the bike looks great and rides great. It looks better in person than it does in the pictures. "Guys – You have NO idea how INSANELY happy I am with my choice of the SETTE PRIMO frame for my new road bike build. I have been on an aluminum LeMond FOREVER. I bought my wife an Orbea Opal in March for close to $4000 – it is super sweet, don’t get me wrong. But it was finally time for me to build a new bike, I decided on this frameset. I got the frameset last Friday and all of my remaining parts from you guys – went to dinner, drank a jumbo margarita, got home and finished the build about 1AM. Did my first ride Saturday AM after some dt tuning…I wanted to cry, it rides so amazing….quick, responsive, stiff – I feel like I have built an unbelievable bike for less than $2K- I would put this against any $3600-$4000 range carbon machine out there.
